Fear & Greed Alert ("the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and protect it, and your rights regarding your personal data.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information (Social Login)

The App uses Google and Apple social login exclusively. We do not offer email/password registration. When you sign in, we receive the following information from your sign-in provider:

• We do not receive or store your password. Authentication is handled entirely by Google or Apple.
• We do not receive your social media profile, contacts, photos, or any other information beyond what is listed above.

The App displays advertisements through Google AdMob. In connection with advertising, the following data may be collected:

• On iOS 14.5+, the App will request your permission through the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt before accessing your IDFA.
• If you decline tracking, ads will still be shown but they may be less relevant to you.
• Ad-related data is collected and processed directly by Google AdMob according to Google's privacy policy.

2.7 External Market Data (S&P 500 Fear & Greed Index)

The App retrieves S&P 500 Fear & Greed Index data from an external source. The following describes the data involved:

2.8 External Market Price Data (Ticker)

The App displays real-time market prices (e.g., BTC, ETH, S&P 500) through a ticker bar. The following describes the data involved:

2.6 Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect the following:

• Passwords (authentication is handled by Google/Apple)
• Real name or phone number
• Location or GPS data
• Contacts or address book
• Photos, camera, or media files
• Financial or payment information
• Browsing history
• Health or biometric data

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely for the following purposes:

We do not use your personal account information (email, provider ID) for advertising, marketing, or profiling. Advertising data is collected and processed by Google AdMob as described in Section 2.5.

4. Data Storage and Security

4.1 Where Your Data Is Stored

Your account and alert data is stored on secure servers hosted by Railway (cloud infrastructure provider). The database is protected by authentication credentials and is not publicly accessible.

4.2 Security Measures

• Authentication: Handled by Google and Apple; we never receive or store passwords
• Authentication tokens: Signed with HMAC-SHA256; access tokens expire after a short period
• Transport security: All communications between the App and server use HTTPS encryption
• Access control: API endpoints that access personal data require valid authentication
• Token revocation: All authentication tokens are invalidated upon logout

The App integrates with the following third-party services. Each service processes data according to its own privacy policy:

• Firebase Authentication is used solely to verify the identity tokens provided by Google and Apple sign-in.

• Sentry is used to monitor application errors and improve service reliability.
• We have configured Sentry to exclude personally identifiable information (PII). Only technical error data (stack traces, error messages, and request paths) is transmitted.

5.4 Google AdMob

• Google AdMob is used to display advertisements within the App.
• AdMob may collect device identifiers (IDFA), IP address, and ad interaction data to serve and measure advertisements.
• On iOS 14.5+, the App requests your consent via App Tracking Transparency (ATT) before accessing your IDFA for ad personalization.
• If you decline tracking, AdMob will serve non-personalized ads.

5.5 Alternative.me

• The App retrieves publicly available Crypto Fear & Greed Index data from Alternative.me's API.
• No personal information is transmitted during this process.

5.7 CoinGecko

• The App retrieves publicly available cryptocurrency price data (e.g., BTC, ETH) from CoinGecko's API for the ticker bar feature.
• No personal information is transmitted during this process.

5.8 Finnhub

• The App retrieves S&P 500 price data from Finnhub's API for the ticker bar feature.
• This is a server-side, one-directional data retrieval. No personal user data is sent to Finnhub.

• The App retrieves S&P 500 Fear & Greed Index data from CNN Business (production.dataviz.cnn.io).
• This is a server-side, one-directional data retrieval. No personal user data is sent to CNN.
• The data retrieved includes the S&P 500 Fear & Greed Index score, rating, and previous close data, which are used solely for market index display and alert notifications within the App.

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure

6.1 We Do NOT:

• Sell your personal information to any third party
• Share your account data (email, provider ID) with advertisers
• Use your account data for profiling or targeted advertising
• Transfer your data to any party not listed in Section 5

Note: Google AdMob, as listed in Section 5, may collect advertising-related data (IDFA, device info) directly from your device for the purpose of serving and measuring advertisements. This is separate from your personal account information.

6.2 Limited Disclosure

We may disclose your information only in the following circumstances:

• Legal obligation: When required by applicable law, regulation, or legal process
• Safety: To protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the public

7. Your Rights and Choices

7.1 Account Deletion

You may permanently delete your account at any time through the App. Upon deletion, all of your data is immediately and irreversibly removed from our servers, including:

• Account information (email, provider ID)
• All alert settings
• All device registrations
• All notification history
• All authentication tokens

7.2 Device Management

• You may view, add, or remove registered devices at any time through the App.
• Logging out will automatically remove all your registered devices and disable push notifications.

7.3 Alert Management

• You may create, modify, enable, disable, or delete alert settings at any time.

7.4 Data Access

If you wish to request a copy of your personal data, please contact us at the email address provided in Section 11.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under the age of 14. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 14, we will promptly delete that information.

9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country of residence. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to servers in regions where our infrastructure providers operate. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data regardless of where it is processed.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes:

• The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will be revised.
• For significant changes, we will provide notice through the App or other appropriate means.
• Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
